Coral reefs Throughout Puerto Rico are unique national treasures. In general, reefs cover less than 1 percent of the ocean floor but support about 25 percent of marine life. However, reefs around the world are declining due to climate change, ocean temperature & acidification, coral disease, overfishing, and other stressors. In some areas of Florida and Puerto Rico the Caribbean, coral cover has declined by 50-80 percent in just the last three decades.

SME & Design’s potential strategies via the DynoReef is to help reverse these declines in our lifetime. We developed a bio-inspired-engineered- electro-embryonic micro-fragmentation and fusion method, to speed the growth of the brain, boulder, and star corals — crucial reef-building species known for their slow growth in the wild, I’m getting ahead of myself, let me start by saying Coral Reefs are large underwater structures composed of the skeletons of colonial marine invertebrates called coral.

The coral species that build reefs are known as hermatypic, or "hard," corals because they extract calcium carbonate from seawater to create a hard, durable exoskeleton that protects their soft, sac-like bodies. Other species of corals that are not involved in reef-building are known as “soft” corals. These types of corals are flexible organisms often resembling plants and trees and include species such as sea fans and sea whips, according to the Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL), a nonprofit environmental organization.

Coral and Marine organisms then lodge onto the electrically energized Lego Blocks and work as active carbon-zinc giving sea organisms a place to call home.

While it protects and enhances the environment and bio-marine wildlife; Producing higher dissolved oxygen for coral reef-building requirements. Does not obstruct the ecological flow of marine life & sea organisms on the ocean floor and does not obstruct the migrating sands to the beach & shoreline. It provides and enhances the growth of coral reefs via the proprietary metallurgy electro-embryonic system and provides for the development of marine life habitats.

PHASE I: Ocean Wave Breaker to protect coast; ocean laboratory for coral restoration; land laboratory. Ocean Wave Breaker generates sufficient energy to power the full Phase I. Additional benefits included in this Phase is
